Students

Awards + Scholarships

ACAD's awards program connects our outstanding students with the financial support they need to support their study. In 2009/2010, the awards office on behalf of the College, its donors and the Government of Alberta administered more than 84 distinct awards. In total, the student awards program administered more than $230,000 in scholarship awards.

ACAD awards are granted on a variety of factors, which may include:

  1. Academic achievement
  2. Merit of work
  3. Financial need
  4. Residency
  5. Community involvement
  6. Demonstrated leadership
  7. Continuation of studies
Important Considerations
  • Government-based student funding may be affected by receipt of award money.
  • Payment of outstanding fees owed to Alberta College of Art + Design is the first charge against award money.
  • The College assumes liability for the payment of scholarships, bursaries, prizes and awards only to the extent that gifts from donors or returns from investments for these purposes will permit.
  • The College reserves the right to make any changes to the Awards Program that circumstance may require, including the cancellation and/or addition of awards, or amendments to existing awards.
  • Award recipients should be aware that the College reserves the right to release pertinent information regarding award recipients to applicable funding bodies and/or award donors.
  • ACAD will issue a T-4A statement of other income to student award recipients.
