Convocation will be held on Thursday, May 17, 2012 - 1:00pm at the Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium.
Are you a graduating student in thelast year of your program at ACAD? Be sure to understand the requirements for graduation and convocation, get involved with your grad committee, the grad show and the convocation ceremony.

Assigned seating tickets are required for admission to the Jubilee Auditorium on Convocation Day. You must request the number of tickets you require for your guests through the Registrar’s Office at registrar@acad.ca no later than March 23rd. Tickets will be awarded on a lottery system and will be distributed at the Grad Rehearsal Meeting. You may still request tickets after March 23rd until May 16th, but they will not be with previous assigned-seating tickets requested earlier.
The Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium has special seating for persons in wheel chairs. Please identify if you need this special seating when you are picking up your assigned seating tickets.
Nominate a classmate to be the 2012 Graduating Class Speaker. To nominate a fellow grad, please provide the following nomination materials to the Registrar’s Office on or before Monday, March 5, 2012.
- A signed, written statement nominating a graduating student as the Graduating Class Speaker and describing why your nominee would well represent the class of 2012.
- A signed, written statement confirming that the nominee accepts the nomination.
- An abstract from the nominee outlining what the nominee will include in his/her speech if selected.
The Vice President Research + Academic Affairs and the Vice President Student Experience + Admissions will make the final decision from the nominations submitted.
Have your picture taken by a professional photographer. Arrangements have been made with Ron Docherty Photo for graduates who wish to have formal grad photos taken. Ron Docherty Photo charges students a $20 sitting fee. Please drop by the Student Experience Office for an appointment time. Grad photo appointments can be made for April 2nd, 3rd + 4th. Additionally, the photographer will be available during the Convocation Reception to take family photos.
There are credential frames that are specially designed and sized to fit your degree. The frames are available now for purchase in the Bookstore. Price: $58.40 + GST.
