Post Diploma Degree Program

Graduates who have been awarded a four-year Diploma in Visual Arts from Alberta College of Art + Design may apply to complete their Bachelor of Fine Arts or Bachelor of Design Degree as a second credential.

Once admitted to the Post Diploma Degree Program, students will receive a complete assessment of their program requirements. Students may complete their outstanding courses on a full-time or part-time basis, either at ACAD or a recognized post secondary institution offering university or university-transfer level courses. Students will be considered active in the program until such time as they apply to graduate or notify ACAD of their intention to withdraw from the program.

Students who wish to complete courses at other institutions should obtain a Letter of Permission from the ACAD Registrar's Office prior to registering in selected courses to ensure the courses will be recognized for credit towards their degree program. Students must obtain a grade of 'C' or higher, as evidenced by an official transcript from that institution. Please refer to the regulations governing Transfer of Credit for limitations and conditions.
Students are responsible for applying to graduate at the completion of their degree program. Degrees are awarded at Convocation once a year in May. The deadline for submission of graduation applications is February 1st. A graduation fee must accompany the application, regardless of whether or not the student plans to attend Convocation.
