Transfer and Advanced Standing Applicants

All Transfer and Advanced Standing Applicants must meet Canadian, Mature Canadian or International Applicant requirements as noted above.  You must submit official transcripts from each high school and post-secondary institution attended on or before the application deadline.  If you are a Transfer or Advanced Standing applicant enrolled in classes at the post-secondary level at the time of application, you must submit in-progress transcripts with your application, followed by official transcripts no later than the required deadlines.

Transfer Applicants

Applicants who have completed credit course work at other accredited post-secondary institutions but have not successfully completed the equivalent of the required courses  in ACAD’s First Year Studies program will be considered for admission to First Year Studies as Transfer Applicants.  ACAD awards transfer credit in accordance with its Transfer Credit Regulations.

Advanced Standing Applicants

Advanced Standing Applicants must have previous post-secondary art education equivalents to the required courses in ACAD’s First Year Studies program to be considered for admission to second year, or an equivalent of the second year requirements for admission to third year.  Advanced Standing Applicants should refer to Advanced Standing Portfolio Guidelines for program specific portfolio information.

Transfer and Advanced Standing from Outside North America

Applicants who are seeking transfer credits for studies at institutions in North America may be required to submit program and course outlines.

Applicants who are seeking transfer credit from institutions outside of North America should contact the International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS) to arrange for an assessment of official transcripts.
