Ways to Give
Unrestricted Giving

An unrestricted gift is the most flexible type of support you can offer to ACAD. All unrestricted gifts are directed to the President's Excellence fund which provides flexibility for ACAD to grow in key areas and to respond quickly and proactively to emerging opportunities.

Please visit the on-line donation section of our site or contact our Advancement office at 403.284.6238 to make an unrestricted gift to ACAD.

Scholarships + Awards

Gifts to scholarships and awards directly assist our students in paying their tuition and purchasing often costly equipment and supplies. Last year, thanks to the generous support of our donors, ACAD was able to provide over $170,000 in support for scholarships and awards.

Gifts to our scholarship fund can be any denomination and may be directed to a specific area of study. Gifts of over five thousand dollars can be made to create a new multi year scholarship established in the name and awarded under the criteria of your choosing.

Scholarship donations can be made directly through a secure on-line donation. Click here to be directed to our donation form. (link to online donation form)

Please contact our Advancement office to discuss options for giving to a scholarship or award at 403.284.6238.

Education + Faculty Enrichment

Gifts to education and faculty enrichment help ACAD sustain excellence in our education practice and student support.

Areas of investment are:

  • Scholars in Residence and Visiting Artist Programs
Throughout the year ACAD welcomes internationally recognized artists and scholars to our campus to work in concert with our faculty and students. These artists and scholars provide valuable mentorship opportunities for our students and build a strong and notable international network for our faculty and institution.
  • Learning and Resource Centre (LARC)
Through our recently opened Learning and Resource Centre ACAD ensures students who are experiencing academic difficulty receive the support they need to achieve. LARC provides necessary programs for students with disabilities, support services for students with learning disabilities and the Peer Tutor Program that provides support for all students having difficulties with academic expectations or course content.
  • Luke Lindoe Library Slide Digitization
The Luke Lindoe Library houses an impressive collection of 35mm slides, consisting of approximately 125,000 images. Receiving over 40,000 circulation requests per year this collection is an important resource for students, faculty, alumni and the general public. Unfortunately, due to the nature of film, many of the slides have begun to deteriorate. Digitization is crucial to preserving and improving the accessibility of these images.

Please contact our Advancement office at 403.284.6238 to discuss giving in one of these worthwhile areas.

Exhibitions + Outreach

ACAD's Illingworth Kerr Gallery (IKG) strives to play a leadership role in the art world by producing and presenting the conceptual 'breakthroughs' that make contemporary art history.

A strong publication program to accompany exhibitions at the IKG will help to establish ACAD's role in international discourse on contemporary art and design. Planned publication circulation nationally and internationally will increase access to exhibitions for the interested public and raise the national and international profile of ACAD as a centre for the presentation of and discourse around contemporary art.

To discuss supporting IKG exhibitions and publications contact our Advancement office at 403.284.6238.

Institute For The Creative Process

The Institute for the Creative Process (ICP) offers transformative programs that support cultivation of discourse, research activities, and initiatives that directly address the nature of the creative process. Work in these areas is imperative for the future growth of ACAD.

Support for the ICP builds ACAD's future as a thought leader in creative practice. The Stirring Culture Speaker Series, completed in May 2006, was the first public initiative of the ICP. This successful speaker series welcomed international creative thought leaders such as Will Alsop and Bruce Mau to speak to Albertans in a 5 speaker series.

We would be pleased to discuss options for supporting the Institute for the Creative Process. Please contact our Advancement office at 403.284.6238.

Give the gift of Creativity

ACAD gift certificates are available in any denomination, and can be used for tuition and fee payment in both our degree program courses, and our wide selection of extended studies courses. ACAD Gift Certificates make great gifts, and can also be used to purchase items from the ACAD bookstore, to shop at the annual ACAD Show + Sale, to buy one of a kind artwork from our student StoreFront gallery.
