SHIFT: a transformative state of mind is an exhibition of work by senior students and graduates from the ACAD Jewellery + Metal program.
Celebrating their final collective exhibition, this group of emerging artists has grown together over four years of undergraduate studies in the Jewellery + Metals Program at ACAD.
Shift presents a snapshot of their diverse inspirations made material – with pieces exploring personal adornment and the human form, ritual, fantasy, weaponry, fashion, utility and diverse ideas. The artworks cross eras, cultures, traditions and disciplines, making manifest the many thousands of hours invested in skill development, documenting precious time well spent.
Metals continue to hold a valued position in our society, and Shift is an exhibition imbued with passion and narrative; the works presented will undoubtedly inspire new and challenging connections for viewers.
