Nuit Blanche Calgary 2012 artists will talk about their practices, projects and how they manage and sustain their careers as artists.
The first annual Nuit Blanche Calgary launches on September 15, 2012 with five amazing time-based performance art events at Olympic Plaza in downtown Calgary – and you’re invited! Events are free to the public, and running from 7:00PM until 3:00AM.
The most surprising performance artists working today are at Nuit Blanche Calgary on September 15th. The renowned Quebec artist trio, BGL premiere a very humorous free ride carrousel propelled by parkour athletes; Caitlind Brown presents a hypnotic CLOUD comprised of 5000 light bulbs; Emily Promise Allison will touch you emotionally and physically with her 8-hour long performance of blind dance, hope and redemption; Theo Sims gives you a live Irish pub ‘sculpture’, The Candahar, notoriously animated by Belfast’s most handsome bartenders, Chris and Conor Roddy; and… don’t miss the Calgary artist collective Sophie Farewell as they direct their amazing town criers to take your personal news viral!! Nuit Blanche Calgary presents performance art as a guaranteed catalyst for late night conversation, debate and dialogue in downtown Calgary and adds a Village beer tent, the most excellent fine food trucks in Calgary and more.
