Dené Language Revitalization

The Dené Language Revitalization program is a free 10-week course taught by Tsuut’ina Language Commissioner and Elder Bruce Starlight.

The Indigenous language Dené is quickly disappearing across the region.  In response to this and the Calls to Action developed by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada, ACAD’s Lodgepole Center is offering a 10-week pilot program teaching the Dené language in Fall 2018.

Funded by the Government of Canada, the program will be led by Tsuut’ina Language Commissioner and Elder, Bruce Starlight and is open to all individuals interested in learning about the Dené Indigenous language.

"Aboriginal languages are a fundamental and valued element of Canadian culture and society and there is an urgency to preserve them"
