Self-Directed Studio Residency | Hot or Warm Glass

This residency is self-directed allowing supervised access to ACAD’s Hot and Cold shops

May 7 until June 4, 2018

Pre-Requisite

Applicants must have taken at least two Glassblowing classes at ACAD and/or have a proven record of proficiency in a hotshop.

This residency is self-directed allowing supervised access to ACAD’s Hotshop and Coldshops for 4-weeks during designated times. This program is being offered to current and previous students of ACAD and alumni looking to hone their skills, and/or develop and complete projects.  Due to facility limitations and access times, there are a limited number of residency spaces available.

Limited technical assistance and guidance will be provided, but there will be no designated instructor during the residency period. Residents will have access to all shop tools and equipment during supervised access times, and clear glass will be provided. Scope of work, glass usage and annealing cycles will be somewhat limited (ie: large scale casting, complex, large or thick work cannot be supported given access, space and annealing cycle restrictions.)

Any questions about your proposed project(s) should be discussed with the Glass Educational Art Technician in advance of making a residency application. Please direct questions to lisa.cerny@acad.ca
