Art + Design Now Presents: Nina Sarnelle
WHEN: Tuesday, February 9 at 7 p.m.
WHERE: Stanford Perrott Lecture Theatre, Alberta College of Art + Design
Nina Sarnelle is a Los Angeles based artist with degrees from Oberlin College & Carnegie Mellon University. She is a founding member of the Institute for New Feeling and dadpranks.
The Institute for New Feeling (IfNf) is an artist collective committed to the development of new ways of feeling, and ways of feeling new. Ranging from sweat lodge ceremonies, group therapy sessions and exercise routines to audio meditations, nutritional substitutes and virtual hypnosis, IfNf playfully explores a shifting landscape of wellness and commerce.
dadpranks is a 6-person, all female art group producing images, video, text and web-based media. The dads use retail aesthetics and improvisational structures to explore the relationship between consumers and technology, both on and offline. They recently produced a weekend-long event of installations and performances in a shopping mall outside of Pittsburgh, PA, and published a photo essay for Hopes & Fears magazine.
