Concourse Gallery, the newest gallery at AUArts, features 22 student artworks and is supported by RBC Foundation. Installed in the lower concourse between the C-Train and the Jubilee Auditorium, the Concourse Gallery celebrates the creative breadth of programming at AUArts. Each piece was reproduced onto vinyl (the same material that vehicles are wrapped in), and heat-sealed to the wall to ensure student artists from every discipline could participate, thus permitting delicate glass and jewellery, 3D design, paintings and fibre to be displayed equally in the public space. The application method provides a modern twist to the gallery experience and transforms the concourse walkway into a vibrant and welcoming extension of AUArts’ campus culture.
