Artist Talk: Ginger Carlson

Director of TRUCK Contemporary Art in Calgary will talk about her experience in artist-run centres and with critical writing for Professional Practices for Artists. Hosted by Alberta College of Art + Design's School of Critical and Creative Studies.

About the Artist

Ginger Carlson is an arts administrator, curator, and art writer based in Calgary, Alberta. She holds a BA Honours in Art History from the University of Alberta and an MA in Art Gallery & Museum Studies from the University of Manchester.

Ginger has developed and presented exhibition and art education programs in Manchester, UK and in Alberta. She served as Programming Coordinator and later Director of Untitled Art Society (2013 – 2016) and as the Visual Arts Curator for the Sled Island Music & Arts Festival (2015 & 2016).

Ginger is an active member of Calgary’s arts and non-profit communities and currently sits on the Board of Directors for the Alberta Association of Artist-Run Centres and Mountain Standard Time Performative Art Festival.
