Bus Tour to Indigenous Landmarks

WHEN: Saturday, October 21, 2017, from 8:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m.

WHERE: Calgary and Southern Alberta

A bus tour to Indigenous Landmarks will take participants on a tour through Calgary and surrounding areas to discuss and explore significant Indigenous landmarks.

This event will be activated by Brittney and Richelle Bear Hat, Reg and Rose Crowshoe, Laurie Somerville and Troy Emery Twigg.

The tour will pick up participants at both UofC (in the main bus loop at 8:30 a.m.) and ACAD (front entrance 9:10 a.m.) and travel to the following landmarks:

Mental Illness Awareness Week | 2017

Mental Illness Awareness Week (MIAW) is an annual national public education campaign designed to help open the eyes of Canadians to the reality of mental illness. The week was established in 1992 by the Canadian Psychiatric Association, and is now coordinated by the Canadian Alliance on Mental Illness and Mental Health (CAMIMH) in cooperation with all its member organizations and many other supporters across Canada.

Sexual Assault Awareness + Prevention Week

September 18-22, 2017, is Sexual Assault Awareness + Prevention Week (SAAPW) at ACAD. The goal of SAAPW is to raise awareness about sexual violence and to educate communities on how to prevent it. 

Sexual violence is a major public health, human rights, and social justice issue and it's everybody's responsibility to end it.

Film Screening - Who Wants to Come to Japan? Feat. Alisha Marie + Bill Morton

WHEN: Thursday, April 13 at 6:30 p.m.

WHERE: Stanford Perrott Lecture Theatre

What happens when a Japanese television series discovers an ACAD student on YouTube and takes her on a surprise tour of arts and craft centres all over Japan?

Find out at this screening that will feature a live interpretation of the show as well as a discussion and Q+A about traditional Japanese arts.

This will be a night of great fun, delicious food and fantastic prizes. See you there!
