Guts'eni - Our Relations - An Exhibition Of Antler And Wood Carvings By Dennis Shorty

ACAD's Illingworth Kerr Gallery is excited to present an exhibition, lecture, performance and demonstration by artist Dennis Shorty. Dennis Shorty is a Kaska first nations artist from Yukon. He grew up watching his grandfather carve and was inspired to learn the skill himself. Dennis uses his creative practice to honor his heritage and his work affirms it proudly.

My art is a reflection of how I feel. It is a spiritual connection and a way to communicate with my ancestors. People can see it and feel the energy that I put into each piece.” -Dennis Shorty
