Marion Nicoll Exhibition: Emily Lendl

WHEN: Monday, January 25 until Friday, February 5, 2016

Opening Reception: Thursday, February 4 at 5 p.m.

WHERE: Marion Nicoll Gallery (Main Space), Alberta College of Art + Design

This exhibition consists of five Bad Girl assemblages. These liberating and unruly girls aren't polite and do not fit the mold of the ideal female; they are crude, loud, aggressive and they make fun of whoever they want, including themselves.

Marion Nicoll Exhibition - Cindy Skrukwa - 27 Months After the Flood

WHEN: Now until Friday, January 15, 2016

WHERE: Marion Nicoll Gallery (LRT Walkway)

27 Months After the Flood explores physical and psychological evidence of the 2013 flood still in place today.

The message intended is that, while Calgary is now dry, much evidence of the flood still remains and continues to take a physical and emotional impact on those directly affected.

Avoiding Gazes, Not Mirrors

Avoiding Gazes, Not Mirrors is an exhibition of life-sized nudes by fourth-year ACAD drawing major Dan McCartney. Using charcoal and intricate mixed-media collage, McCartney explores the layered intersections of his mixed-race identity and personal transgender experience.

Gender dysphoria, the disconnect between body and mind, is at times impossible to convey through words. The exhibition challenges the viewer to negotiate their own body, and strives to investigate the balance between public and private. When words fail, art reveals.
