Bus Tour to Indigenous Landmarks
WHEN: Saturday, October 21, 2017, from 8:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m.
WHERE: Calgary and Southern Alberta
A bus tour to Indigenous Landmarks will take participants on a tour through Calgary and surrounding areas to discuss and explore significant Indigenous landmarks.
This event will be activated by Brittney and Richelle Bear Hat, Reg and Rose Crowshoe, Laurie Somerville and Troy Emery Twigg.
The tour will pick up participants at both UofC (in the main bus loop at 8:30 a.m.) and ACAD (front entrance 9:10 a.m.) and travel to the following landmarks:
- Fort Calgary
- St. Joseph Industrial School landmark
- Tsuu T'ina Museum
- Siksikaitsitapi medicine wheel offering site
The bus will drop off participants at approximately 5:30 p.m. A boxed lunch will be provided, please indicate in advance if you have any dietary restrictions.
The tour is hosted by: ACAD's Illingworth Kerr Gallery and U of C's Nickle Galleries in conjunction with their respective exhibitions, Future Memories (Present Tense) and The Writing on the Wall: Works of Dr. Joane Cardinal-Schubert, RCA
