WHEN: Thurs, Nov 21 until Sat, Dec 2, 2016
Opening Reception: Thurs, Nov 24 from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. in the Main Mall at ACAD
Interim, Inquietude is a performance art piece and installation that focuses on the trauma and state of unrest that a sexual assault victim goes through between the time that they are raped, report their case to the police, and the time that the case goes to trial.
Sparked by the recent discussion in the media regarding sexual assault (ie: Brock Turner, Austin James Wilkerson, etc) and fuelled by the artist’s personal experience with the Canadian Justice System in regards to her own case, McKenzie aims to further the dialogue surrounding survivors and the mental weight they carry with them long after they are assaulted.
