ACAD welcomes NASAD

The incredible depth and breadth of our student’s creative skills will be on display next week when over five floors and thousands of square feet of our building will be covered with art, craft and design work. This exceptional show is taking place March 29 – 31, 2016 as we welcome an accreditation team from The National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD) to our campus.
NASAD, an organization based in the United States is the national accrediting agency for art and design and related disciplines including approximately 346 institutions for the visual and design arts disciplines in North America.
ACAD is the only independent post-secondary institution of Art and Design in Canada to be accredited by NASAD. The accreditation is a door opener for our students, allowing their degrees to be recognized in the United States, providing pathways for our alumni to pursue further education in the US and American students to easily study with us.
Alison Miyauchi, Associate Vice President, Research and Academic Affairs at ACAD is proud of the fact that ACAD was the first non-USA institution to be accredited by NASAD in 2009. “We broke the ground for NASAD accreditation for institutions outside of the United States, and as we welcome the delegation to campus and proceed through our re-accreditation process, we are looking forward to continuing this valuable relationship on behalf of our students.”
NASAD also provides information to potential students and parents exploring art and design education options and is a source of statistical information, professional development and policy analysis to institutions. For more info:
