Refresh, renew and reunite at '925: A Sterling Anniversary
25 years of Jewellery + Metals and Wearable Art alumni are celebrated with a four-day reunion event
Calgary, AB – The Jewellery + Metals program at ACAD was the only place that Jeff deBoer (BFA, 87) found just the right balance of conceptual and technical education that launched him on a successful career as a multi-media artist with an international reputation for producing some of the world's most original and well-crafted works of art.
“All of us (Jewellery + Metals alumni) have the exceptional culture of the ACAD jewellery department to thank for what we have been able to achieve,” explains Jeff when asked why he is coming to the reunion. “A jewellery department reunion is a great chance to connect with our past and to celebrate and recognize our collective achievements.”
925: A Sterling Anniversary will bring together 25 years’ worth of faculty, students and staff celebrate and share the program’s rich history and look towards its exciting future, says faculty organizer Dee Fontans. “925 is the mark used to identify the alloy of Sterling Silver and traditionally mark a 25 year anniversary, so we thought it would be a fun connection to celebrate this milestone.”
Ticket prices range from $27.11–$53.60 for the five events on Friday, February 25 until Sunday, February 28, 2016, and provide you with full access to five exclusive events, proceeds go towards supporting Jewellery + Metals student programming. A one-day pass is available for $25.
